Visual Arts

When you visit the Theater at PAL, please note the art on the walls.  All pieces are by local artists and for sale.  A portion of all proceeds go directly to benefit PAL.  The Artists who are currently working with PAL are:

Jean B. Moyer

Here’s what the artist says about her work:

“Painting is happiness.

I usually take photos of whatever interests me, and whatever I think would make a good painting. I then work in my studio enjoying the planning process and the moment when the paint brush and colors meet the untouched area and change it into my vision. Light and shadow are important ingredients.”

Eileen Carlock

About this artist:

Eileen Carlock, originally from Rockville, Maryland, moved to Luray, Virginia in 1998. Eileen is best known for her Waterfalls of The Shenandoah National Park collection which gained regional attention after appearing in The Washington Post’s Sunday source section last year.

She uses digital photography to combine her computer graphics background with her photographic skills: She often overlays digitally transparent images in her art. Many of Carlock’s photographs are rich in light and vibrant color, however, her recent photography project, called The American Civil War, is primarily black & white and some sepia tones.
