March 23-25, 2018. Festival of the Arts in Downtown Luray
Free festivities begin at PAL at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, with a performance by regional trios, duos, and solo musicians. On Saturday, PAL will host artists and artisans, exhibiting their wares and providing demos of their techniques. Learn about fiber arts, stained glass techniques, and more. In the evening, PAL will host another series of musical performances. On Sunday, there will be more artisans working on their crafts. Click here for a complete schedule.

Playwrights from across the country submitted their works to our selection committee. The result? A line up of great works by emerging and established authors from as far away as Buffalo, New York, and Oxford, Mississippi–and as close as down the street in Luray. They include award-winning playwrights, such as Donna Hoke, C. R. Resetarits, and Lois Shapley Bassen, as well as newcomers to the craft.

An Evening of Opera & Broadway highlights some of the most beloved arias and ensemble numbers that opera has to offer, as well as popular musical theater show tunes. The program features members of Virginia Opera’s nationally recognized Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Program.

This award-winning classical guitar duo comprised of Brett Floyd and Christopher Jenkins has presented concerts, workshops, and masterclasses in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Washington DC, and Missouri. The duo won first place at the Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition in May 2010 and has been featured on the internationally-broadcasted radio show “Classical Guitar Alive” and NPR ETV radio.
May 5 Festival of Spring FREE
The 13th Annual Festival of Spring, free to the public, will feature a one-day celebration throughout the Town of Luray. The PAL Plaza will host The Annual Beer Garden, featuring great music and a cash bar. Join the fun and festivities!

Since permanently leaving his corporate environmental engineering career in 1996, award-winning folk/Americana artist Andrew McKnight has performed at venues that include the Kennedy Center, the International Storytelling Center and the Atlanta Olympics. He has been part of the Rocky Mountain, South Florida, Boston and Delmarva Folk Festival lineups, and a guest on NPR’s “Art of the Song” and “River City Folk” shows. His finely crafted songs are woven together with humorous stories and poetic drama, while the musical soundscape influences include Appalachia, slide and jazzy blues, feisty anthems, rustic folk, and Carter Family tunes.

Main Street Singers presents Rave Reviews, a collection of familiar songs and styles that so mesmerized audiences that they’ve endured for generations—from madrigals and Hollywood musical styles to favorites in country, pop, and rock. The evening will feature feature music from Gene Kelly, Dolly Parton, Simon and Garfunkel, Journey and more, with a special “hats off” to our current military and veterans who also deserve rave reviews. The Main Street Kids will join us with new skills and songs.
June 16 North and South FREE
Dallas Corbett, Putter Cox, and John Fletcher will perform classic rock, folk, and light jazz. Dallas and John moved to the region two years ago after success in clubs and venues in Charleston and other venues in the South. Putter hails from upstate NY. He is Minister of Music at Main Street Baptist Church. This FREE event on the PAL Plaza features a cash bar. Fireworks and classic rock—what a great evening! Celebrate Independence Day with this great local band and watch the fireworks from the best location in Luray.
